A grape that is getting noticed a bit more these days - this is a delicious example of that "other" Cabernet, which is actually a much older grape variety than Cabernet Sauvignon. Typically aromatic, with violets or rose petals on the nose. Good length, with rich dark cherry fruit flavors with medium tannins to finish.

Yorkville Cellars is located in Mendocino County, 100 miles north of the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge. The tasting room is on Highway 128, a picturesque road that winds past vineyards, sheep ranches and apple and peach orchards before plunging through the Redwood forest to emerge at the Mendocino coastline.
The vineyards are 1,000 feet or more above sea level, where sun-filled days and cool nights, tempered by coastal fogs, combine to produce premium quality grapes.
This wine's elegant fruit has a transparent red berry flavor, its tannins earthy and lithe. It doesn't have the heft and fullness many people hope for in their cabernet, taking a more delicate approach.
Fruity flavors with a gently spicy finish come together to create a real crowd pleaser. This delicious red blend includes: Zinfandel 45%, Carignane 29%, Petit Sirah 20%, Malbec 2%, Merlot 2%, Carmenere 1% and Cabernet Franc 1%
Bright red fruit- cherry to boysenberry, splash of cranberry. Medium bodied mid-palate, but a stuctured finish, showing a hint of spicy, toasty oak along with some lingering tannins. This wine is generous and warm. Suited to several years of age if desired.
Blended in the style of a Bordeaux red, this wine already shows great aromatic complexity and supple fruit flavors. It can certainly benefit from additional bottle ageing, but is rich and rewarding today.
A proprietors’ blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot, 5% Malbec, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Carmenere.
The wine has a wonderful bouquet of fresh lime, lush tropical fruit, and smooth honey. It has a nice, fresh acidity, but a few slight notes of sweetness keep the wine from being overly crisp. Very well suited for grilled chicken or white fish, it’s perfect for a summer BBQ.
