A grape that is getting noticed a bit more these days - this is a delicious example of that "other" Cabernet, which is actually a much older grape variety than Cabernet Sauvignon. Typically aromatic, with violets or rose petals on the nose. Good length, with rich dark cherry fruit flavors with medium tannins to finish.

Yorkville Cellars is located in Mendocino County, 100 miles north of the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge. The tasting room is on Highway 128, a picturesque road that winds past vineyards, sheep ranches and apple and peach orchards before plunging through the Redwood forest to emerge at the Mendocino coastline.
The vineyards are 1,000 feet or more above sea level, where sun-filled days and cool nights, tempered by coastal fogs, combine to produce premium quality grapes.
This wine's elegant fruit has a transparent red berry flavor, its tannins earthy and lithe. It doesn't have the heft and fullness many people hope for in their cabernet, taking a more delicate approach.

Aromas of straw and citrus. Taste pink grapefruit, lime zest and some minerality. Lighter bodied yet complex. This is a white that will improve with some bottle age.

Bright red fruit- cherry to boysenberry, splash of cranberry. Medium bodied mid-palate, but a stuctured finish, showing a hint of spicy, toasty oak along with some lingering tannins. This wine is generous and warm. Suited to several years of age if desired.

The wine has a wonderful bouquet of fresh lime, lush tropical fruit, and smooth honey. It has a nice, fresh acidity, but a few slight notes of sweetness keep the wine from being overly crisp. Very well suited for grilled chicken or white fish, it’s perfect for a summer BBQ.

A dry white, it is nicely balanced with an upfront minerality and has a rich, honeyed texture with pear and apricot flavors. Great with crab or virtually any seafood dish!
